So, many congrats. You are the owner of purebred dog with FCI (www.fci.be) pedigree and decided to go to Dog Show.
You can start from 3 month at baby class, but you must know that in baby class (3-6 month) and puppy class (6-9 month) you can’t got any titles. But is nice to go with puppy to shows if you are planning to show it in the future. For socialization and training it is very important. Fist titles your dog can obtain starting from 9 month (junior class, in this class you can reach junior national champion).
While visiting the show, see your breed rings, learn about breed handling (showing a dog in the show ring).
Usually it is the breeder of your dog who can help you to understand everything and can help to show your dog in the ring while you will learn how to do it. But if the breeder is far away you have to make everything by yourself. You can contact professional handlers and ask them to learn you or to show your dog. You can find all info in your Club. Remember that if you have FCI pedigree you must find club, that represents FCI in your country / city. It is the biggest and the most reputable world cynological organization. You’ll meet new people and share their knowledge and experiences. The club may also have information about shows in your area. Remember, that not to pay the latest price you must register long before the show (1 month before show usually is dead line for registration). Dog showing it is not only dog shows titles, it is interesting traveling, new places and new friends.
If you don’t wish to handle your dog yourself, you may contact a professional handler to show your dog. Professional handlers charge a fee for showing dogs, so before hiring a handler make sure you obtain a schedule of the fee.
Good luck!
